During our study of the novel 'Lord of the Flies' by William Golding, you will be required to contribute to an ongoing class discussion around key aspects of the novel. The Setting

Golding's choice of setting (on a remote uninhabited island) is a good one, given that his intensions in writing the novel are to 'trace the defects of society back to the defects in human nature.' Do you agree with this statement?
